Cookie Policy

Which cookies are used on this site, who sets them, what they do, and how to say no.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site, or another company whose service the site uses, recognize your browser on a later visit. Similar technologies, such as local storage and device identifiers, do the same job in other ways. This page uses “cookies” for all of them.

The short version

  • We do not set tracking cookies of our own. The calculators, guides and reference pages work without any.
  • Advertising cookies are set by Google and its partners when ads are shown on the site.
  • A consent cookie remembers the choice you made in the consent message, so that you are not asked on every page.
  • You are in control. You can refuse advertising cookies, change your mind later, and block cookies in your browser.

Google publishes a full description of the cookies it uses in How Google uses cookies. Advertising partners certified by Google may set their own cookies when their ads are shown. The consent message lists those vendors and lets you choose among them.

Through the consent message. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising cookies are set. To reopen the message and change your choices, use the “Privacy and cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page.

Through Google. You can turn off personalized advertising for your Google account or your browser in Google Ads Settings.

Through industry opt-out pages. www.aboutads.info/choices in the United States, youradchoices.ca in Canada, and www.youronlinechoices.eu in Europe let you opt out of personalized advertising from participating companies.

Through your browser. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies. Look under Settings, then Privacy. You can block third-party cookies only, block all cookies, or clear cookies when you close the browser. This site continues to work fully with all cookies blocked.

Refusing or blocking advertising cookies does not remove ads. It means the ads you see are not based on your browsing history.

What we do not do

  • We do not use cookies to identify you personally.
  • We do not combine advertising data with your contact messages.
  • We do not use analytics or session-recording tools.
  • We do not store the measurements you enter into calculators.
