Affiliate Disclosure

How the site makes money, and what would and would not change if affiliate links were added.

How the site is funded

The Woven Garden is free to use. It is paid for by advertising, served through Google AdSense. Advertisements are labeled as such and are kept separate from our own content.

At present, the site contains no affiliate links. No link on the site earns us a commission, and no calculator, guide or shopping list points you toward a particular retailer or brand.

If that changes

We may add affiliate links in the future, for example from a calculator’s shopping list to a retailer that sells the materials listed. An affiliate link is a link to a retailer that pays the site a small commission if you buy something after clicking it. It does not change the price you pay.

If we do add them, these rules will apply:

  1. Every affiliate link will be marked, with a clear note next to the link or at the top of the section it appears in, before you click.
  2. This page will be updated first, naming the affiliate programs the site takes part in.
  3. Affiliate links will never look like part of a calculator. They will not be styled as buttons, results or controls.
  4. Recommendations will not be for sale. A product type will be mentioned because the job needs it, not because a program pays for it. No retailer or manufacturer will be able to buy a mention, a ranking or a link.
  5. Quantities will not be inflated. The calculators will give the same result whether or not there is a link beside it.

We do not publish sponsored articles, paid reviews or guest posts, and we do not accept free products in exchange for coverage. If that ever changes, the content concerned will be labeled at the top.

Advertising

Display advertisements are chosen and served by Google and its advertising partners, not by us. We do not choose the advertisers, and an ad appearing next to a page is not our recommendation of the product in it. The privacy policy explains how advertising works on the site and how to control personalized ads.
